The Bombay High Court on 10 September 1955 dismissed the appeal of \[name withheld\], Police Prosecutor at Anand, upholding his trial-court conviction and sentence under s.161 IPC for accepting a Rs. 250 bribe. The Supreme Court affirmed on 21 April 1959 (AIR 1960 SC 961), holding the courts below proceeded on no wrong principle and the conviction was proper and correct. The trap evidence showed marked notes paid at the appellant's house on 24 June 1954 were recovered from his shirt pocket with matching numbers.
