The Andhra Pradesh High Court (pre-bifurcation; incident in present-day Telangana) held that a Mahabubnagar man, a rickshaw puller detained at Rural Police Station, Mahaboobnagar from 07-08-1990 to 11-08-1990, died of custodial torture. The Court relied on the magisterial and CBCID enquiry reports and post-mortem injuries (one abrasion and four contusions), disproving the police story of an insect bite, corroborated by a negative viscera report.
