The Andhra Pradesh High Court (pre-bifurcation; incident in present-day Telangana) dismissed the appeal of Detective Sub-Inspector of Shamshabad Police Station and confirmed his conviction by the Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases, Hyderabad. The Court found he demanded Rs 500 from workshop owner \[name withheld\] as a motive for not foisting a stolen-property case on him, after earlier extracting two electric motors, and was caught in an ACB trap on 09-10-1989 with tainted currency recovered from his hip pocket and a positive phenolphthalein hand wash.
