The Supreme Court awarded a total of Rs.10 lakh to the widow and legal representatives of a Uttar Pradesh man, who died in PS Sojna custody on 8/9 March 1987 after a 2 a.m. altercation with drunken constables and a false Section 307 FIR against him.
