The Delhi High Court confirmed the life sentences (plus Rs 50,000 fine each) of seven Uttarakhand policemen for abducting 20-year-old a Dehradun man after a noon scuffle on 3 July 2009 and shooting him dead in a staged encounter near Raipur, Dehradun. Holding the police self-defence version disproved, the Court confirmed the convictions under Sections 120-B, 302 and 364 read with 120-B IPC, while acquitting A-8 to \[name withheld\] for want of evidence of the larger plan.
