The judgment of the Bombay High Court records the following account. After cross-complaints over a private quarrel on 9 May 2019, Pishor police arrested father-son petitioners a Kannad man (42, labour contractor) and Amol Pawar (23, student) on 31 May 2019 though custodial interrogation was unnecessary for such a minor incident. The petitioners alleged mala fide arrest, illegal detention of at least four hours, assault at the station and illegal handcuffing. The Aurangabad Bench partly allowed the petition, declared the arrest and detention illegal, and directed Rs. 10,000 to petitioner no. 1 and Rs. 15,000 to petitioner no. 2 within 45 days (8% interest on default), granting only nominal compensation on a possible police misconception that Section 324 IPC was non-bailable. It gave the State liberty to recover from the concerned officers. Matters not addressed in the cited judgment text are not recorded here.

> It was not that serious incident in which custodial interrogation was necessary.
