The Delhi High Court (Justices S. Muralidhar and Talwant Singh) awarded Rs 50,000 each to newly-married a Loni man and a Loni woman for their illegal detention by UP police in July 2018. A Court-appointed Committee prima facie established that SI (PS Loni) took a Loni woman from JNU to her parents without her consent and kept a Loni man in the PS Loni lockup from 3 July till the night of 5 July 2018 without producing him before any court, while Delhi Police (PS Vasant Kunj North) failed to intervene or record the visit.
