On 26 August 2021 the Gujarat High Court dismissed the writ petition of an Unarmed Police Constable and left his removal from service undisturbed. The court recorded that on 5 September 2001 the petitioner was found intoxicated in public at 11:30 pm, quarrelling and talking nonsense, that the inquiry officer held the charge proved in May 2002, and that the Superintendent of Police, Rajkot (Rural) removed him in September 2002, a penalty confirmed in departmental appeal and review.
