The Delhi High Court awarded Rs 15,00,000 with 8% simple interest from the incident date plus Rs 2,00,000 in litigation costs to a New Delhi man, the survivor of the Connaught Place fake encounter of 31 March 1997. Grievously injured while his two friends were killed, he lives with shrapnel in his body and a disabled right arm, and his testimony as the key prosecution witness had convicted the ten policemen.
