The Tripura High Court dismissed the appeal of TSR Rifleman and affirmed his conviction under Section 302 IPC and sentence of rigorous imprisonment for life with a Rs 50,000 fine for shooting dead two colleagues at Konaban camp on 4 December 2021. The Court held the prosecution proved beyond reasonable doubt that he deliberately opened fire with his service weapon after being denied leave, rejecting the defence theory of an accidental discharge during a scuffle as an afterthought.
