Tamil Nadu's Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption reported that it trapped and arrested a Inspector of Police of All Women Police Station, Lalgudi, Tiruchirappalli district, on 13 December 2022 while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 for filing the charge sheet in the complainant's case. This is an allegation: an arrest in a trap is not a conviction, and the officer is presumed innocent unless a court finds otherwise.
