Tamil Nadu's Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption reported that it trapped and arrested a Sub-Inspector of Police of G.H. Police Station, Erode, Erode district, on 15 September 2023 while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 7,000 for releasing the complainant's two-wheeler. This is an allegation: an arrest in a trap is not a conviction, and the officer is presumed innocent unless a court finds otherwise.
