## Summary

The Special MP/MLA Court, Bengaluru convicted Police Inspector, then SHO of Dharwad Sub-Urban station, for conspiring with the murder masterminds to destroy evidence and frame others for the 15.06.2016 murder of Zilla Panchayat member a Dharwad man, sentencing him to 7 years' RI. The court held the Dharwad police's original chargesheet against six persons was part of the cover-up exposed by the CBI's further investigation. Sixteen other accused including the MLA-mastermind received double life terms; Rs 16 lakh of the fines goes to the victim's children.
