## Summary

The Special Judge-I, CBI Mohali sentenced SHO to life for the staged encounter killing of \[name withheld\] and a Rupnagar man, falsely shown as arrested and then killed near village Bhadal with a cover story of cross-firing during an arms recovery. Two ASIs were released on a year's probation. The CBI registered the case in 1997 on Punjab and Haryana High Court orders on the wife's petition. Incident circa 1996 per writ-petition year.
