## Summary

Head Constable of Arnod (Chittorgarh), who arrested a Chittorgarh resident under s.110 CrPC and extorted Rs.100 + Rs.200 of a Rs.500 illegal-gratification demand, was convicted on 3 May 1983 by the Special Judge, Anti-Corruption Cases, Udaipur in CC No.47/1978 under IPC s.161 and PC Act 1947 s.5(1)(d)/(2) and sentenced to 2 years' RI with Rs.250 fine per count. The Rajasthan High Court allowed his appeal on 16 January 2001 (S.B. Crl.A. 198/1983); the Supreme Court (K.G. Balakrishnan & AR. Lakshmanan, JJ., 2004(8)SCC169) on 12 October 2004 set aside the acquittal as not on merits and remitted the appeal to the High Court, whose final decision is not traced.
