His appeal before the Additional Sessions Judge, City Civil and Sessions Court Ahmedabad was dismissed in 2011, and the Gujarat High Court (Justice R.T. Vachhani; 2025 LiveLaw (Guj) 159) dismissed his criminal revision on 6 October 2025, holding intoxication on duty erodes public trust and directing surrender within two weeks.
