The Special Judge, Delhi convicted Constable of PS Mehrauli in CC No.56/1998 for demanding and accepting Rs 1,000 illegal gratification on 26.07.1994 from informant \[name withheld\] for returning his identity card seized during checking at Aaya Nagar, catching him in an Anti-Corruption Branch trap (Crime No.20/1994 on the 30.07.1994 complaint), holding him guilty on 26.10.2004 under sections 7 and 13 of the PC Act. He was sentenced to one year RI with Rs 1,000 fine on each count, concurrent. On 27.04.2026 Justice Chandrasekharan Sudha dismissed his appeal (CRL.A. 862/2004) on merits, upholding the conviction.
