GHMC found that the owner of a house in Mahesh Nagar Colony, Nampally built first to fourth floors after a 2018 permission had expired. GHMC passed a speaking order on 23.12.2025 directing removal and sealed the property on 13.01.2026. The Telangana High Court on 24.03.2026 disposed of the owner's appeal, leaving GHMC free to demolish as per law.
This page records what the cited court, tribunal and government records say happened. Findings belong to the court or authority that made them; this register adds none of its own. Names of private individuals are withheld unless a naming gate clears them.
How we verify →The demolition/sealing order stands; GHMC may enforce it unless the owner gets a stay, and must decide the regularisation application under law.
What happened
The High Court recorded that GHMC by speaking order dated 23.12.2025 directed the appellant to remove unauthorised construction in property H.No.5-8-280, Mahesh Nagar Colony, Nampally, Hyderabad, following a show-cause notice under Sections 452(1) and 461(1) of the GHMC Act.
The High Court recorded that the writ court on 30.12.2025 had directed GHMC to forthwith seal the unauthorised construction and implement the speaking order, and GHMC stated it sealed the property on 13.01.2026.
The High Court recorded that GHMC's case was that higher floors were built on the basis of a 2018 building permission after expiry of the stipulated period, which is impermissible, and the owner had applied for regularisation after the speaking order, not in prescribed format.
The High Court disposed of the writ appeal holding that since the owner had not challenged or stayed the 23.12.2025 speaking order, there is no legal impediment for GHMC to carry it to its logical extent in accordance with law, while GHMC should decide the regularisation plea in reasonable time.
