Consumer prices · India

They printed this. Their own price monitors saw that.

Left column: what MoSPI printed for the twelve months July 2025 → July 2026 — an item CPI rate when they printed one, else the parent division, labelled as a division, never a fake packet rupee. Right column: government-observed retail prices — national averages from the Price Monitoring Division (and PPAC for fuel) — for 10 Sep 2025 → 10 Sep 2026. The two periods do not match: the observed prices run two months after the CPI months, so read the columns side by side, not as one checking the other. Neither column is any one household’s bill. Combined CPI is +4.5%.MoSPI CPI 2026-27Source: Consumer Price Index on base 2024=100 for July 2026 (provisional), Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, FY 2026-27, PIB 12 Aug 2026: Combined CPI 4.45% (index 107.94); CFPI 5.52%; Potato −16.56%; Tomato −4.59%; Onion 22.54%
