What happened

DMRC is a 50:50 joint venture of the Government of India and the Government of NCT of Delhi; its secretarial audit records that 100% of paid-up capital is held by the two governments in equal proportion and that the company is a Government Company within the meaning of s.2(45) of the Companies Act, 2013. Its registered office is Metro Bhawan, Fire Brigade Lane, Barakhamba Road, New Delhi-110001 (DMRC 30th Annual Report, 2024-25).

Paid-up equity rose to ₹24,128.49 crore as on 31 March 2025, allotted equally to GoI and GNCTD, and the Corporation employed 13,708 people (DMRC 30th Annual Report, 2024-25).

On 8 March 2026 the Prime Minister inaugurated two Phase IV corridors — the Majlis Park–Maujpur Babarpur section of the Pink Line (about 12.3 km) and the Deepali Chowk–Majlis Park section of the Magenta Line (about 9.9 km) — which completed the Pink Line's circular configuration. The same event saw foundation stones laid for three Phase V-A corridors.

As reported for 2024-25, DMRC operated about 394.25 km with 289 stations. It was executing roughly 110 km across six Phase IV corridors, and the three priority corridors were 63.28% physically complete as on 31 March 2025 (DMRC 30th Annual Report, 2024-25).

What we could not confirm

The exact incorporation date (3 May 1995) appears on DMRC's corporate web page, which rendered only as a script shell during this check; the 1995 incorporation is confirmed by the CIN shown in the annual report. DMRC is a joint-venture government company and is not classified in the DPE Public Enterprises Survey schedule, so no Schedule/Navratna status label applies. Phase IV completion figures are works-in-progress.
