Punjab Police

What the state budget set aside to run the police and to build or buy for them. Not jails, not courts, not home guards.

Running the force vs buildings and gear

Same year’s plan. Buildings and gear are the thin slice — that is the book.Punjab budget 2026-27Source: Annual Financial Statement and Explanatory Memorandum on the Budget of the Government of Punjab for the year 2026-27, Finance Department, Government of Punjab, FY 2026-27, printed p. 14 (2055 Police, revenue disbursements)

Running costs · 94.8%
₹8,452.65 crore
Buildings and gear · 5.2%
₹467.67 crore

The Home grant is not only police

Demand 12 Home Affairs also carries home guards and prosecutions on a separate capital line. Demand 36 Jails prints a buildings line under the same police capital code, but those amounts are jails — central jails, district jails, prison modernisation. That is not Police.

Salaries not split by station

Named police stations are not printed as allotments. We do not divide this total by the number of stations.

Book stops here

Each stop is a printed grain, or a dashed EMPTY where the book does not print the next line. We do not invent a station share.

Hero running costs are this AFS 2055 line. 4055 is taken from Capital Demand 12 (DGP), not the AFS 4055 total, because Demand 36 Jails also prints 4055 for prisons.
