High Court quashes 16-year-old immoral traffic case against a hotel customer
Ahmedabad police raided a hotel in 2010 using a decoy customer and booked a man found there as a customer under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act. The Gujarat High Court quashed the FIR against him on 18 September 2026, sixteen years later.
This page records what the cited court records say happened. Findings belong to the court or authority that made them; this register adds none of its own. Names of private individuals are withheld unless a naming gate clears them.
How we verify →Proceedings against the customer stand quashed.
What happened
The High Court recorded that the FIR of 17.01.2010 at DCB Police Station said a hotel was running a brothel, and that police sent a decoy customer before raiding it.
The petitioner was shown by the investigating agency as a customer at the time of the raid, and argued the Act's sections could not be invoked against a customer.
The High Court quashed the FIR and all consequential proceedings against him.
What the record says
“along with all consequential proceedings arising therefrom qua the present petitioner, stands quashed and set aside.”
