The State of Manipur v. Manipur Police Rifleman

The judgment of the Manipur High Court records the following account. Rifleman of the 4th India Reserve Battalion was arrested on 19 May 2015 after investigation showed he had become an active worker of CorCom, a conglomerate of valley-based militant outfits, throwing hand grenades in December 2014 and transporting arms while in uniform. He was dismissed on 25 March 2017 by the Governor under Article 311(2)(c) on a Committee of Advisors' recommendation. A Single Judge set aside the suspension and dismissal on 27 January 2020. The Division Bench allowed the State's writ appeals, holding the Committee's constitution and the Governor's satisfaction valid, and confirmed the dismissal order.
