Tamil Nadu's Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption reported that it trapped and arrested a Head Constable of Palakodu Police Station, Dharmapuri district, on 26 May 2025 while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 for processing bail for the complainant, an accused in a Palakodu police station case. This is an allegation: an arrest in a trap is not a conviction, and the officer is presumed innocent unless a court finds otherwise.
