Charged, not convicted 1

  • Charged, not convicted 26 November 2020
Tamil Nadu's Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption reported that it trapped and arrested a Inspector of Police of Checkanoorani Police Station, Madurai district, on 26 November 2020 while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 30,000 for deleting an accused from the charge sheet. This is an allegation: an arrest in a trap is not a conviction, and the officer is presumed innocent unless a court finds otherwise.
The entries above are allegations. An officer trapped by an anti-corruption agency is presumed innocent unless a court convicts; none of them is counted as a finding anywhere on this site.
