What happened

The High Court recorded that the case concerns FIR No.29 dated 19.01.2026 for offences under Sections 3, 4 and 5 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act at Police Station Zirakpur, SAS Nagar, Mohali.

Police said a hotel on Bhabat Road taken on rent was being used as a brothel, with women brought from different states on promise of payment and cash collected from visitors, according to the status report dated 21.07.2026 summarized in the order.

Police said an associate was caught at the reception, three women were found in a room and released after their statements were noted, and nine prophylactic packets were seized from the reception drawer.

The High Court recorded that no ground for false implication was made out at that stage, that custodial questioning was needed to uncover the network, and that the petition was devoid of merits.

No complaining victim

The alleged act was arranging paid sex for money at a hotel. The order does not explicitly allege minors or force, though it refers to the recovered women as 'girls/victims', so fully consensual-adult framing is not established by the order itself.

What we could not confirm

Full FIR and statements of the three women were not independently opened; order summary does not allege minors or force.
